Childrens Cake - Straightforward, Handmade Birthday Cakes Intended for Little ones

Maybe you have imagined of making a really wonderful childrens cake for ones kid's birthday? I remember since a child how thrilled I always was with my Mom's wonderful birthday cake creations and I vowed to create by myself kids' cakes once I had my own family. We cherished the idea of creating a really personalized, homemade cake as an alternative to ordering the traditional sheet cake from our local grocery store. I was nervous getting started but soon realized that having a little patience and practice anyone are able to do this!

Here are a few ideas that will allow maybe the busiest moms to bake an ideal birthday cake for their child.

-Start with a shaped character pan. They generally have very detailed and easy-to-follow directions. You may also buy them fairly cheaply (check out eBay for affordable used and retired pans).
-Use pre-made and pre-colored fondant. My personal favorite is Satin Ice since it features a nice vanilla flavor; unlike some other pre-made fondants, and you may have it in a number of different colors. You may also flavor fondant with candy flavoring.
